PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY'S

Georgia Art Project

From now until the conclusion of the Georgia Senate runoff election, artist-activists in partnership with People For the American Way are promoting a set of digital billboards across the Atlanta-metro area as part of People For’s multi-platform “Defend the Black Vote” campaign. The campaign will also send one million text messages and will feature radio ads, digital ads, press outreach, and social media.

The goal of Defend the Black Vote is to help motivate people to the polls with an urgent message to vote in a runoff that could impact the trajectory of the nation’s history.

Participating creators include world-renowned visual artists Victoria Cassinova, Shepard Fairey, and Alyson Shotz, and multimedia artist Carrie Mae Weems.
